Trurock now contains a powerful mould inhibitor

Siniat’s popular Trurock is known in the market a genuine allrounder. This multi-functional performance plasterboard is made with a high-density gypsum core, glass fibre reinforcement and a recycled heavy duty purple liner paper and it is often used in high-traffic areas in commercial projects.

Trurock has always incorporated impact, water and fire resistance and provided superb acoustic performance, but Siniat has now added a powerful mould inhibitor to its formulation. This means that Trurock can now provide ongoing protection against mould, which is a great benefit during construction and long thereafter.

Adam Biernat, Product and Innovation Manager at Siniat, said the change was made in response to customer feedback.

“Versatile Trurock can be used in a wide range of commercial projects, with healthcare and education being prime applications. It only makes sense to have mould protection as an extra benefit in these projects. Vulnerable and young occupants can be more susceptible to the harmful effects of mould spores and mould resistant Trurock  just adds that extra layer of protection,” Adam said.

For builders and contractors the mould resistance also solves the problem of board growing on the board during construction. “Builders know that ongoing wet conditions can result in mould growing on the board before the project is finished, which can add time to the construction cycle,” Adam explained. “With mould resistant Trurock this risk can be minimised.”

With one board providing five benefits, the ordering, delivery and installation of Trurock are easy and hassle-free. Trurock is easy to repair and maintain, and its excellent impact resistance adds to the longevity of the building.

For projects requiring the ultimate impact resistance, Siniat offers Trurock HD. Trurock HD contains all the properties of Trurock, but with the added benefit of a continuous fibreglass mesh inside the core it can withstand hard body impacts in areas like hospital corridors where more knocks and damage can be expected.

Trurock is available as a carbon neutral product under Siniat’s Opt2Act  opt-in program and it is GreenRate certified to Level A under the GreenTag scheme.
