Safety first – in 2019 and beyond
At Knauf Australia we believe that all injuries are preventable and that we can always invest in strategies to improve on our safety performance.
In 2019 we continued to evaluate our procedures, making improvements where necessary.
Team Knauf participated in this year’s GBMA Safety Challenge and we actively supported National Safe Work in October.
GBMA Safety Challenge
Knauf Australia participated in this year’s GBMA Safety Challenge in New Zealand, and our team did us proud.
The team consisted of Leki Ofamooni from Altona and Sione Veamatahau and Andre Viane (both from Bundaberg). Team Knauf came 3rd in this year’s Challenge, with GIB taking first place and USG Boral coming in second. Andre took first place in the individual Theory Course.
Sharon Brailey from the Heathwood Distribution Centre supported the guys as the team coach.

Supporting our Safety Champions
Knauf fully supported National Safe Work month in October. This year the theme was “Be a Safety Champion”.
The campaign is run annually by Safe Work Australia – an organisation established in 2008 to develop national policy and guidance for WHS and workers’ compensation, and to raise awareness about WHS in the Australian working community.
At Knauf we subscribe to Safe Work Australia’s ethos that no industry should be unsafe to work in and that no death or injury is acceptable. We are committed to building a safe and healthy workplace for all our employees.
